The Allen-Bradley 5069-IB6F-3W is a Compact 5000 Discrete fast input module. Description

The Allen-Bradley 5069-IB6F-3W is a Compact 5000 I/O module. This module is specifically a 24VDC fast input module that supports 2-wire and 3-wire sensors. Similar to a standard input module, this module operates at a Voltage range of 10-32VDC with support for pulse and period measurement as well as pulse latching function.

The 5069-IB6F-3W is equipped with a single group of Six (6) sinking input channels with each channel exhibiting an input signal delay time of ? 10 µs, ±1 µs @ 25 °C (77 °F) for both On to Off and Off to On transitions. Additionally, this module has a configurable input filter time that adds to the module’s hardware delay. Configurable input filter times include 0-50 ms for Off to On and On to Off transitions.

For the module’s Fast input related characteristics, this module supports up to Four (4) events triggered by any input or simple counters. Pattern matching is supported as well. Pulse and Period measurement is at +/- 2µs with input timestamp accuracy of ±10 µs and resolution of 1 ns resolution.

The 5069-IB6F-3W is equipped with reverse polarity protection and installed with a fuse for overload protection. The module’s overvoltage protection rating is 36V. The 5069-IB6F-3W is a single slot module. It is mounted to a Din rail, similar to any modules within the same product family. Compatible DIN rail for use with module is zinc-plated chromate-passivated steel DIN rail or EN50022 - 35 x 7.5 mm (1.38 x 0.30 in.) DIN rail. Never use DIN rails made with poor conductive material or susceptible to corrosion and oxidation. The DIN rail provides grounding connectivity to the enclosure. DIN rails that are made of non-conductive material may tend to break grounding of the module which may affect performance of each.

The compact I/O module uses the producer-consumer communication model. This module is compatible with Logix controllers and configured with studio 5000 Logix designer. The Allen-Bradley 5069-IB6F-3W is intended for the Pollution Level 2 Industry Environment, in excessive category II applications (defined in the publication of the IEC 60664-1). This module can function at an altitude of up to 2000 meters without derating. If you connect or disconnect the cable to the terminal block or if you insert or discharge the module when the power is switched on, an electrical arc may occur. This may cause an explosion in hazardous locations. Make sure the power is removed and that the area is not dangerous before continuing. The Allen-Bradley 5069-IB6F-3W is not intended for use in a residential neighborhood and this module may not provide adequate protection against radio communication services in the neighborhood. This module is earthed through the DIN rail to the ground chassis. Use a zinc-plated yellow chromate DIN rail to ensure proper grounding.
