Functional Field Testing in Hazardous Areas The TL-2055 radiates a wideband infrared signal matching the detection band of Fire Sentry IR and IR3 detectors, and a UV signature for UV / UV-IR models. One operator can sweep the detector's field of view, confirm alarm response and sensitivity, and record the test — no ladders full of test gear, no hot work permits, no real flames.
Explosion-Proof Design The housing is machined from copper-free aluminum (less than 0.4 % copper) with a powder-coated finish, designed and certified for use in Class I, Div. 1 & 2, Groups B, C, D; Class II, Div. 1 & 2, Groups E, F, G; and Class III locations per NEMA 3 and 4. Suitable for offshore, petrochemical, oil & gas, and process plant environments.
Rechargeable & Maintenance-Friendly Power is supplied by an internal 12 VDC nickel-metal hydride battery pack, recharged through the supplied AC/DC wall converter (110/220 VAC). The IR reflector lamp and battery are plug-in user-replaceable parts, keeping the tool in service with minimal downtime.
Optional Field-of-View Control A cylindrical tube can be fitted over the front lid to reduce the tester's radiated field of view, allowing selective testing of individual detectors in dense arrays.
