The EDS490-L-2 is an insulation fault locator designed for unearthed systems (IT systems) to automatically locate insulation faults. It works together with an ISOMETER® insulation monitoring device (e.g., iso685-D-P): when the ISOMETER® detects an insulation fault and generates a locating current signal, the EDS490-L-2 detects this signal via measuring current transformers installed on each branch circuit, thereby precisely identifying the faulty circuit without interrupting the power supply.
This model is the L version, which has no built‑in display and uses LED indicators for status display. It features 12 measuring channels with independent alarm contacts per channel. The -2 suffix indicates a AC/DC 70…276 V wide‑range power supply.
