The IR470LY2-60 is an insulation monitoring device from Bender, part of the A-ISOMETER® series. It is designed for unearthed AC and three-phase systems (IT systems) to continuously monitor the insulation resistance between the system conductors and earth (PE). When the insulation value falls below a preset threshold, the device triggers an alarm. The device operates on the DC superimposition measuring principle and is particularly suitable for pure AC systems without significant DC components (such as frequency converters or rectifiers). Thanks to an independent external power supply, de-energised systems can also be monitored. In combination with AGH series coupling devices, the device can be used for higher voltages.

Key Features
· DC superimposition measurement – Continuously monitors insulation resistance of IT systems (Uₘ ≤ 40 V, Iₘ ≤ 200 μA)
· Dual adjustable alarm thresholds – Two independently configurable response values, selectable ranges: 100 kΩ…1 MΩ or 500 kΩ…5 MΩ, enabling pre‑warning and main alarm
· Connection monitoring – Continuously supervises measuring leads and earth connection; flashing alarm LED indicates interruption
· Offline monitoring – Independent external power supply allows monitoring even when the main circuit is de‑energised (automatically activated when system voltage < 80 V)
· LED bar graph and indicators – Bar graph shows insulation level; LEDs indicate AC/DC side faults
· Fault memory – Selectable latching mode; alarm messages must be manually reset
· Self‑test and reset – TEST/RESET button on front panel; supports remote operation
· Voltage extension – Extendable to 7.2 kV with AGH coupling devices
Typical Applications
· Pure AC unearthed IT systems without frequency converters or rectifiers (motors, pumps, fans, air conditioning, lighting, heating, etc.)
· Industrial plant control circuits, motor control centres
· Online and offline insulation monitoring of mobile generators
· Shipboard power systems, offshore platforms
· Tunnel lighting, railway signalling, emergency power supplies
· Offline insulation monitoring of fire pumps, valves and other de‑energised loads
