The IR1575-435 is an insulation monitoring device designed for unearthed AC, 3(N)AC and DC systems (IT systems). It continuously monitors the insulation resistance of the main circuit. The device is developed according to IEC 61557‑8 and is suitable for AC or DC systems up to 480 V.

When the insulation resistance falls below a preset threshold, the device provides a timely warning, thereby contributing to the safety and availability of the electrical installation. The IR1575‑435 is intended for panel mounting and comes with a 96 × 96 mm enclosure for installation in control cabinet doors.

Key Features & Functions

· AMP measuring principle – Uses the patented AMP measurement method (European Patent EP 0 654 673 B1) which injects a microprocessor‑controlled pulsating AC measuring voltage into the system. This makes the device suitable for modern power systems containing directly connected DC components such as rectifiers and converters.
· Automatic adaptation to system leakage capacitance – Automatically adapts to system leakage capacitance (max. 1000 µF) to optimise the measuring time without manual adjustments.
· Two independently adjustable response values – Two separate alarm thresholds (Rₐₙ₁ / Rₐₙ₂) adjustable from 2 kΩ to 1 MΩ, allowing pre‑warning and main alarm.
· Multi‑function LC display – Backlit LC display shows the insulation resistance (R_F), system leakage capacitance (Cₑ), true RMS value of the nominal system voltage (Uₙ), and residual voltages (Uₗ₁ₑ, Uₗ₂ₑ).
· Integrated RS‑485 communication – Galvanically isolated RS‑485 interface supports BMS (Bender measuring device interface), Modbus RTU and IsoData protocols for data exchange with higher‑level control systems.
· Comprehensive self‑monitoring – Continuous self‑test and connection monitoring check the internal measuring circuits and the connections to the IT system and earth (PE). Any internal or wiring fault is indicated by a system fault LED.
· External test and reset inputs – External push‑buttons can be connected to perform a test or to reset stored fault messages.
· De‑energised system monitoring – Powered by an independent supply voltage, the device can monitor the system even when the main circuit is de‑energised.
· Password protection – Prevents unauthorised changes to device parameters.
· Fault memory (selectable) – The fault memory can be activated via the menu to latch alarm states, helping to identify intermittent faults.
· Plug‑in terminals – For convenient electrical installation and maintenance.
