Description

The Allen-Bradley 5069-L320ERMS2 is a Compact GuardLogix controller. This device is specifically a safety controller that is capable of performing both standard and safety tasks at the same time. This controller is provided with dedicated 2 MB user memory for standard applications and 1 MB memory for safety application. The user memory may be complimented with a non-volatile memory wherein up to 32 GB may be installed. By default, the 5069-L320ERMS2 is installed with a 1784-SD2, 2 GB Secure Digital (SD) card.

To implement industrial communication, the 5069-L320ERMS2 supports Ethernet I/P protocol by default. Via the provided Two (2) Ethernet ports, this controller can communicate with partner devices at transmission speeds of 10 Mbps, 100 mbps and 1 Gbps communication speed. These ports may operate in dual IP mode wherein each port is assigned with individual IP address and Linear / DLR mode where the ports operate at a single IP address only. Up to 40 Ethernet I/P nodes can be connected to this controller and 32 socket connections are supported. This port cannot be used for industrial communication.

This Compact GuardLogix controller is rated Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2. It can handle 32 tasks of continuous, periodic and event in nature. Of these tasks, 31 can be standard and 1 is a safety task. Each task is able to execute up to 1000 programs using all type of triggers available to the controller.

This controller also has 2 Ethernet ports that operate in a full-duplex setup at speeds of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, or 1 Gbps. The Allen-Bradley 5069-L320ERMS2 Ethernet controller can operate in either the Dual-IP Ethernet mode or in the Linear/DLR Ethernet mode. The topologies that it supports are the star topology, the ring topology, and the DLR topology. The mode and the topology that the 5069-L320ERMS2 controller uses depends on the applications that it is currently running. This controller can support up to 40 Ethernet/IP nodes at a time in a single application. Additionally, the 5069-L320ERMS2 controller can be programmed through 1 of several available programming languages which include the Ladder Diagram, the Structured Text, the Function Block Diagram, the Sequential Function Chart, and the Safety Task programming languages. Its built-in memory includes 2 MB of user memory and 1 MB of safety memory, and it can accommodate additional memory space if a non-volatile expansion memory module is installed.
