Description

The 25C-B2P5N104 is part of Allen-Bradley’s PowerFlex 527 Adjustable Frequency AC drive. Commonly, the 25C-B2P5N104 and similar devices are referred to as Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Variable Speed Drive (VSD), Frequency Inverter, or simply Inverter. This drive is mainly used to control the On/Off operation of an industrial AC motor along with the equipment’s rotational speed and Torque. In addition, the 25C-B2P5N104 is also utilized to implement energy-saving measures through the drive’s soft-starter capabilities and minimize wear and tear of the motor due to sudden starting and stopping and change in the motor’s direction of rotation. The 25C-B2P5N104’s supported control methods include V/Hz Control, Closed Loop Velocity Vector Control, Sensorless Vector Control (SVC). Aside from these configurable control options, the 25C-B2P5N104 is capable of acting as a single-loop controller capable of Proportional + Integral + Derivative (PID) control algorithm for automatic control of a closed-loop control system. The built-in dual Ethernet communication ports available to this drive enable direct communication with a Logix Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) such as the CompactLogix and ControlLogix controller for implementing premiere Integration and receiving dynamic drive configuration. Rockwell Automation’s Connected Components Workbench (CCW) is also supported by the 25C-B2P5N104 as stand-alone configuration software while the embedded LCD QuickView Human Interface Module (HIM) available to this drive allow operators to locally configure, monitor, and operate the drive.
