The 2711-T10C20 is a visualization component from Allen-Bradley. It is a graphic operator terminal, more popularly known as a Human Machine Interface (HMI) that allows machine users and process operators to control a specific area or the entire process in one, convenient and integrated monitoring and control workstation.
The 2711-T10C20 is part of the PanelView Plus 1000 Standard operator terminals that features a colored display screen measuring 10.1 inches, embedded with analog-resistive touchscreen that allows direct operation by touching a specific runtime object displayed in the HMI’s screen. Additionally, this operator terminal communicates with Allen-Bradley controllers or 3rd party devices using the built-in Ethernet communication port which support 10/100 Mbps transmission speed with auto-negotiation capability. The secondary port which is the RS232 9-pin Sub D interface is specifically designed to communicate with alarm printers for documentation of alarms and events.
With Ethernet I/P, communication with partner devices may be implemented using Cat5 cable and may cover 100m of distance at a maximum without converters and extenders. If longer distance is required, installation of an Ethernet switch may be utilized or conversion to Fiber Optic may be implemented.
The 2711-T10C20 is capable of exchanging data between one or more Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) such as PLC5, MicroLogix, SLC, CompactLogix even ControlLogix. Additionally, it is capable of communicating with 3rd party devices provided that both systems have compatible communication interfaces. Each 2711-T10C20 module features a durable NEMA Type 12/13 or 4X enclosure for indoor use only. The HMI runs on an 85 to 264 Volts AC input power. Data, files, applications, and more can be stored in the 2711-T10C20’s 1008 Kbytes of memory. There are Ethernet and Printer (RS-232) Communication Ports for adaptable communication and the Allen-Bradley 2711-T10C20 module can provide HMI support for any Allen-Bradley Programmable Controller. It can download data remotely with a network, a gateway, or a passthrough connection. The 2711-T10C20’s dimensions are approximately 11 x 15 x 4 inches (282 x 370 x 112 millimeters). It can accommodate different accessories for different applications, and these accessories include connections cables, ATA PC memory cards, and an antiglare overlay for the LCD screen. Other features of the 2711-T10C20 include screen security, alarms, a real-time clock, universal language support, ASCII inputs and displays, and floating-point file support. The 2711-T10C20 HMI terminal can create screens for a full complement range of operator devices. This HMI can operate in a Class III Division 1 industrial environment, and it is CE and UL certified.
