The Allen-Bradley 150-C9NBD is a 3-wire, solid-state SMC-3 smart motor controller with Delta compatibility and an open-type enclosure. It is also a 3-phase controller that can be used for various applications, including lifts, fans, chillers, compressors, mixers, conveyors, pumps, etc. This controller’s Hp depends on the voltage and starting duty: at a starting duty of 350%, it has an Hp of 0.75 to 2 at both 200 and 230 Volts AC and 1.5 to 5 at 460 Volts AC; at 450% starting duty, the controller’s Hp ranges from 0.75 to 1.5 at 200 Volts AC, 0.75 to 2 at 230 Volts AC, and 1.5 to 3 at 460 Volts AC. Its current ranges from 3 to 9 A and the ampere rating is 9 A. It also has a control voltage of 100 to 240 Volts AC and an input line voltage of 200 to 480 Volts AC, 50/60 Hertz.
Protective features of the 150-C9NBD controller include phase reversal protection, electronic motor overload protection, phase loss/open load, phase imbalance, over-temperature, and shorted SCR. This controller comes with five modes of operation, particularly coast-to-rest, kick start, current limit start, soft start, and soft stop.
This controller also has a rotary switch that can be used to set up the motor FLA quickly. It also has DIP switches for faster configuration of various settings of the controller, including its START/STOP profile. Also present is an LED status indicator that shows its fault, OFF, and RUN status. Note that the fault type is identified via the number of flashes made by the LED indicator. The reset button also acts a hold-to-test button to identify faults of the controller.
