Description

The 1764-Data Access Tool (DAT) is a MicroLogix 1500 optional component that is situated in front of any MicroLogix 1500 controller particularly, MicroLogix 1764-LSP or 1764-LRP controller. This Data Access Tool (DAT) is attached to the base unit. This tool enables local visualization and functions such as monitoring, test, parameter configuration and unit status. The Data Access Tool features a monochrome Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) that is provided with Two (2) function keys, F1 and F2, Escape, Enter, Up and down buttons. This buttons serve as the operator input area.

This module provides local monitoring and adjustments of the PLC program which is a flexible tool for personnel involved in maintaining the PLC operation. With the Data Access Tool (DAT), PLC errors may be viewed, cleared and test functions may be carried out. This module also supports implementation of user program access security which may allow access to 48-bit elements and 48-integer elements. The Data Access Tool is also capable of modifying the operating mode of the controller of the PLC, change communication parameters which can come in handy especially if the programming workstation is not available.

This module is an optional device that may be removed even under power. It may also be used with another MicroLogix 1500 controller as this module simply access the memory module of a specific controller, it does not have a memory of its own. The 1764-DAT carries certifications from different organizations and certifying body such as C-Tick, GOST_R, MARINE-ABS, MARINE-BVS, MARINE-DNV, MARINE-GL, MARINE-KRS, MARINE-LR, and ROSTECHNADZOR.

The Allen-Bradley 1764-DAT is a Data Access Plug-in Tool for MicroLogix 1500 PLC controllers. When a user purchases a MicroLogix 1500 programmable logic controller, they are given the option to upgrade its functionalities span with the 1764-DAT. Some of the available options for this tool are data monitoring and adjustments. Whether the user is PLC programmer or a maintenance technician, this product will be handy when directly accessing a 48-bit memory element and a 48-integer memory element. It will swiftly provide the user with information in the case that the controller experiences alarm conditions. Besides the options to change integer and bit values within the controller, these elements can be optionally locked for monitoring purposes only. The 1764-DAT is an option component for MicroLogix 1500 series programmable logic controller (along with replacement battery and memory module/real-time clock). A PLC unit has a base unit with a power supply, inputs and outputs and a processor. Installation of this plugin unit to a PLC unit consists of removing the protective cover from the top of the PLC housing and pushing the data access tool down to establish firm contact connection. It is removed as easily as it is installed and removal and insertion of this module under power is permitted. Additional specifications of the 1764-DAT include dimensions of 27 x 17 x 7 millimeters, a temperature rating of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius, a maximum Bus Current of 350 mA at 5 Volts DC, two function keys, and a heat power of 1.75 Watts.
