About 1734-IE8C

The 1734-IE8C is an analog input by Allen-Bradley that belongs to the POINT IO modules. It has a 16-Bit resolution and accepts analog input range of 0 to 21 mA. The module’s absolute accuracy is 0.1% full scale at 77 degrees Fahrenheit, its input impedance (resistance) is 60 Ohms, and its conversion type is the delta-sigma type. POINT IO analog input modules such as the 1734-IE8C support a variety of features, including scaling to different engineering units, channel-level diagnostics, on-board channel-level data alarming, and to the integer format. The 1734-IE8C module is practically designed and it allows for greater flexibility than other modules with its individually configurable channels, selectable input filters, and over and under-ranged detection and indication functions.

The 1734-IE8C is a POINT IO module that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. POINT IO product family are Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) components that are primarily used for distributed IO applications. This product family are robust, compact and scalable modules that is ideal for use in IO systems where diverse IO allocation must be implemented and cost-effectiveness is an important consideration.

The 1734-IE8C has Eight (8) single-ended Current input channels that are capable of receiving electrical analog signals of 0-20 mA or 4-20mA. Analog signals represent the actual magnitude of a variable. The module processes and converts the received analog signal from the input channels simultaneously through a delta-sigma conversion type. The converted data is stored as a Signed Integer for further processing such as Input scaling.

The 1734-IE8C is factory calibrated. It does not need any calibration however, proper configuration of data is required to operate the device properly. The 24 Bytes of data that the module creates are created as data tables within the Programmable Logic Controller’s (PLC) memory. These data are sets of Channel Data and status from Channel 0-7. These data tables have different Read/Write properties.

The 1734-IE8C will not operate without an appropriate POINT IO communication adapter installed.
