The Allen-Bradley 1785-L80C15 is a ControlNet PLC5 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that is part of the legacy controller platform. This controller is compatible of being used in large and complex application as it is capable of handling up to 3072 Input and Output devices of any combination or 3072 Input and 3072 Output when configured in complimentary mode.
The 1785-L80C15 is embedded with a variety of communication ports particularly One (1) serial interface supporting DF1 protocol, One Data Highway Plus (DH+), One (1) Remote I/O (RIO) protocol, DH using 1785-KA, and ControlNet communication port using RG6 coax media cable. ODH+, RIO and ControlNet are capable of networked topology and high-speed data exchange. DH+ and RIO supports data transmission rate of 57.6 Kbits/s, 115.2 kbits/s and 230.4 Kbits/s while ControlNet supports transmission rate of 5Mbps communication rate.
The 1785-L80C15 is also capable of being configured in 2-slot, 1-slot and ½ slot addressing. With 2-slot addressing, any mix of 8-pt modules, 16-pt modules may be used. With 1-slot addressing, any mix of 8-16 pt modules may be used while 32 pt modules must be in I/O pairs. With ½ slot addressing, any mix of 8, 16 or 32 pt modules may be used.
